In the eighties in Australia there was a very popular television campaign for Swan Lager. I don't think anybody used to drink either Swan Lager or Fosters but certainly they did well on the international market. One of the ads featured Greg Norman at a lovely house in Edgecliff, Sydney of an evening enjoying his new found international success. The other, which I can barely remember, was the one emailed to me this morning, featuring Ken Done. Many of you younger set would not remember Ken Done but one particular moment in the ad stands out, when old Kenny is in Paris seeing his designs in a boutique with the by line 'Collections Australienne'. Remarkable! So, for a little period piece of beer ad history, press play to be sent on a colourful Ken Done Odyssey.... And remember, 'They Said You'd Never Make It... But This One's Made For You!'

Just found this blog. My father loved Swan Lager. Back in the 1980's he bought it in a Cambridge Massachusetts USA liquor store in Harvard Square near the University. Really loved it. Later when he was failing he asked me to bring him the beer so he could enjoy a good beer each day.
