Theodore Smallbone and his good friend Sean Venturi came up with Venroy Boardshorts, with a fundamental difference in Australian board shorts philosophy - the focus was the harbour and not the beach. The label, which you can see on
www.venroy.com.au is everything that Sydney needed. Most board short brands had ridiculous surf culture designs - nothing elegant, nothing chic, nothing you could wear a shirt with. But the Venroy boys changed all that by making the cut slimmer, cutting the shorts higher, simplifying the colours and designs and putting a decent interlining in the shorts that doesn't tear. Made in Australia, designed by Australians for Australians - but not subscribing to the 'Surf Culture'. I am going to support this brand and I like the way they have broken away from the pack.
