Greetings From The Australian Winter 2013

I am wearing our Premium Black mogador satin bow tie - www.lenoeudpapillon.com
There is one thing that needs to be said about having a country weekend black tie dinner, and that is, once you agree to it, there is no turning back to fetch something if you have a wardrobe malfunction. And in this instance I had two of them. The shirt I had chosen no longer fitted me and had I tried this particular one on in the last six months I might have known. Thankfully my friends here helped to cover up my stomach which was poking through. Secondly, and a lot less of a malfunction was the fact that I had left my cufflinks in Sydney. A country dinner in black tie is fantastic, but you really ought to have a check list in place because if you don't get it right, there is no turning back. In the end, the three couples had a great dinner and the women looked so good that nobody really cared what had happened to my shirt but I am certainly not going to make the same mistake next time. Funnily enough, the room in which we are dining was formally named 'The Folly' in March. I think I have lived up to it's name. Always prepare for the country weekend!
