It's more of a dinner jacket than a smoking jacket, but it has a smoking feel to it. This is Gus Lander, a dashing groom on his wedding day and we were glad to make it all come together for him. Gus wanted a velvet dinner jacket with silk satin lapel in a more modern take on the shawl. He was so pleased with the result that he tipped me. I have never been tipped before so I was chuffed. I forgot that you can get tipped when things go smoothly and you surpass the customer's expectations. Thank you Gus, I really do appreciate the photo. Click on the photo to enlarge it.
Above: An artist often has one or two tricks, so says my art aficionado friend. Perhaps this is one of mine. Gus' jacket is made from Holland And Sherry Black Velvet from their Black Tie bunch. The shawl collar silk is from Como, the buttons are fabric matched to the shawl. Inside the jacket is Holland And Sherry red lining. There is piping on the shawl and piping on the jets of each of the pockets. The jacket is priced upon request. He is wearing a Le Noeud Papillon Sydney Modified Butterfly Premium Black Bow Tie $155 on www.lnpties.com. To know more about the jacket, email bow@lenoeudpapillon.com
