I posted about Venroy boardshorts a while back. Theo Smallbone, one of creators of Venroy, did some work experience for me a while back. He had an idea to create a board shorts brand that didn't focus on surf culture, with unique patterns, a shorter short that were lightweight but would not tear and were reinforced for the tough kind of workload a pair of shorts does in an Australian summer. He has worked his arse off and for me the proof was in the pudding when he came around tonight with his latest samples. I take my hat off to these guys - a small idea and they have really taken off with it. You can buy them online at www.venroy.com.au , they are $99.00 a pair which I think is very reasonable considering I have worn my other pair all summer and they are still going strong whereas the pockets ripped out of my Villbrequins and they cost me three times as much. At the moment they are sending them out with free shipping over Christmas. My favourites at the moment are the second from the left 'Turkish' print. I believe that to date all production has been done in Australia, so you would be supporting a local brand.
