A message from the groom:
Hi, Thanks so much
for your wonderful ties. I bought it for my wedding last month and thought you
might be interested in seeing some photos. All the best, Lincoln
With all my respect, the smoking is not correct for a weeding. The correct, ever, is the 'chaqué' (in spanish, I don't know the english word for 'chaqué').

If you are referring to a day wedding, then you are correct. The English call it morning dress. Black tie was for 'After Six', but regardless, this was an evening wedding with a day ceremony and respectfully, I think that the world has changed significantly enough that if someone chose black tie for a day/night wedding, I don't believe he would be committing a great faux pas.
