We Cut Fresh Silks Every Monday And Sell Down What Remains Every Sunday Evening

Bow Ties Weddings Australia

There is not really more money you can spend on designing, setting up and weaving silk than we spend on it. Aside from going down the path of weaving real gold thread. This is perhaps the last aspect of silk weaving we haven't considered. Our new Boticelli fabrics are sublime. Unique fabrics that will stand the test of time as some of the most heavily invested in fabrics we've done to date. We've made silks that are the highest possible level of production in satins for example, where warp and weft are made of the same yarn and densely woven at 170 pic. It was unheard of when I first put my hand across it and so rich and lustrous. But then, that's plain fabrics and most regular bow tie wearers don't crave satin silks for their every day attire. Anyway, it's the middle of the pandemic, so today I suspect these bow ties will not be sold until the last sale codes are delivered. Which means it's a very good day to shop our website. www.lenoeudpapillon.com

Liebre Style - A Brand With Truly A Point Of Difference That I Hope Will Survive The Pandemic

Right now it's survival mode for most small businesses. Strapped for cash, unable to go about their business as usual, pushing to drive to online models, relying on slowed down logistics, it is not an easy fight. I like to call in-store sales "hand-to-hand combat" , you get right up and close with your customer, you can truly show them what it is you do, the quality of what you make, why you do it, and the reason you might charge more than your competition, or less as it happens some time.

Online sales is a difficult business. You get exposed to a much broader customer base but it's hard to convince anyone to go online and shop a brand they have never heard of nor experienced or had a relationship with the product or the product category.

For this reason I think it is going to be a challenging few years for Elena of Liebre Style , a shoe company she started in 2017, making small batch shoes in Portugal featuring very lively colours and patinas of leather mixed with silk fabrics she sources from all around the world.

Elena contacted me for an interview after she had been introduced to a silk merchant that we both knew in common. That interview took place on Saturday night via a live stream on Instagram, something I had never done before and perhaps won't do again as I realised I was talking too much and anyone had access and there is no editing out what happens... But it was enjoyable to try something brand new.

The feeling I got from Elena is that she is passionate about fabrics and combining them with shoes. And for the most part, aside from wool, I have not seen this kind of blending of silks and leathers before and to be honest, I had thought about it after seeing a pair of silk loafers a few years ago, but never had the stamina to see it through. And that's the difference. There are a lot of people in this world that say "I'm gonna" and very few who put their money where their mouth is. Elena has succeeded. Though I am not familiar nor am completely sold on Portuguese makers, I am very impressed with her range and flair and especially taken by her leather holdall bags which are finished with silk and Harris Tweed.

Elena right now is struggling to get through this period and so I am wanting to support her and I will be donating to her crowd funding of her next project of shoes which is coming soon. She is also currently working on a wholesale model and looking for boutiques to stock her unique brand of shoes. I will keep you posted once she gets the crowd funding going and I am pleased to say, her next collection is extremely exciting, using the highest quality Italian jacquard silks. I look forward to being one of her first customers. In the meantime, shop her existing collection here: LIEBRE STYLE or follow her Instagram here. Or , try Elena directly on +48510505941

Our Customers Stay Loyal And We Reward Them - In Fact, They Become As Much Friends As Customers

Our customers tend to stay loyal to us because they know we look after them and quite often they get extremely good offers so they keep coming back. This is Michael, as much a friend as a customer. We must exchange a Whatsapp or two every other week. He is currently in Palm Springs, California. He sent in this photo this morning. Our limited edition silk and gold lurex leopard design which we wove with one of Europe's top jacquard weavers in January. The benefit of every piece being cut by hand is that we can play with the design as we cut and find different parts of the silk to have fun with, especially on the larger repeats. Michael owns a Harley Davidson, no doubt when he rides his bike he will have a certain extra cache owing to the mask. Thanks for sending it in Michael. Whatsapp +61413140994 if you need your own mask made.

We Can Make Hand-Made Cushions From Any Of Our Superlative Fabrics

Recently I placed a few cushions onto the website and a not a single person bought them - and understandably, it was perhaps because of the price. But to make a hand-made cushion from the fabrics we use is almost unheard of. Between the printed silk twills, the woven jacquard silks and the velvets we use, there is quite possibly no more money one could spend on fabric save from those unique Florentine makers of silk which produce for opera houses etc. We don't skimp on fabric is what I am saying. On this cushion, which I kept for myself, we took a 90x90 piece of printed silk, our very own Brazilian Carnival Dancer, then we took an orange organzina satin silk to form the piping and on the reverse is an Italian Raedelli velvet in a rich midnight blue. The finished size is 60x60 and it makes for a wonderful ornamental pillow/cushion for a bed which otherwise is finished very simply. Anyway, you now have a portal into my bedroom, which is rather simple and not as over the top as everything else I do in my life, mostly because when it comes down to it, I like simplicity when it comes to a space where you are tying to rest and find some inner peace - and God knows I have had many a sleepless night of recent. For custom made cushions it's best to Whatsapp me directly on +61413140994.

Alessandra Porenta - Austrian Show Jumper And Now Face Mask Wearer

One person at a time. Alessandra was living in Sydney, Australia but returned home just prior to the Sydney lockdown and thanksfully she is safe and well but finding confinement difficult and taxing emotionally. They have a strict lockdown policy over there which means she can go to the pharmacy for medication, to the supermarket for essentials, but that's it. Save one other thing - she can go and take her horse for a walk - which she does gleefully. Thanks Alessandra, we stay in contact via Whatsapp and I like to hear everyone's story during this extremely unusual time.

A New Design We Are Working On Based On Plant Illustrations By Sandro Boticelli

According to one guide I read on La Primavera in the Uffizi, Sandro Boticelli made studies of more than 160 plants in order to come up with the flowers that adorn the fabrics and rest in the foreground and background of La Primavera, one of my favourite paintings if not my most favourite painting of all time. After visiting the Uffizi in January I decided to embark on a very laborious design that I ended up using the help of a number of designers and technical wearing specialists to finish for my own fabric inspired by Boticelli. We will be working on this fabric once the mills go back to work on May 5th. I hope that it will be delivered by July this year. It is a very special fabric and one I hope to turn into a variety of different products you will find on our website www.lenoeudpapillon.com
