Of course you must take anything I write here with a pinch of salt since I am in the business of selling bow ties but today something different happened. Today, after years of making silks and trying different designs I finally felt like I could really make a sigh of relief. We received on Friday one of our latest designs which had taken an extraordinary amount of time to produce for reasons that have still not been explained to me exactly by the mills. I think it was just a number of things acting in succession which stalled this design coming through. It was worth the wait however, it was one of those silks that once it was in my hand and once I splayed it across the table I just felt like I had proved something to myself, something that said 'now this company is doing something very different'. I challenge you to go and find a more interesting silk out there in any of the current collections. I am referring to the new model named Kirk. Kirk has quite a bit of story to him but I can tell you briefly that the genesis of Kirk was lying around playing cards in a lodge one winter's weekend in Thredbo when the weather was miserably wet and cold outside. Concurrently, in arrived the new iteration of a bow we once called 'Aristotle'. It's on burgundy warp with a lilac rope weft. If there were two bow ties I would be happy to define Le Noeud Papillon by, they have just arrived. Shop them now.
