The answer is simple: wear bow ties, dress in fine clothes, have a house by the lake with a large glass gazebo and friends in show business. What a wonderful wonderful wonderful movie, so finely crafted, so elegantly put together. So uplifting.
So, firstly, I love the turned back cuffs of Von Trapp's grey home jacket, the high wrap around collar which does not turn down, the white tie and the naval / army feel to many of his 'at home' suits and let's not forget the smoking jacket when he walks in after the thunder and 'my favourite things'. The only let down was that half the bow ties look pre-tied. But hey, that's ok by me since they got everything else right.
With this many photos I figured we'd need an intermission. Speaking of which, wouldn't it be lovely to bring back the intermission and making a film a day out. Life is too rushed these days.
